Carnival Learning Resource

Welcome to the Carnival Learning Resource!

Fiesta or fete, hooley or jamboree - all over the world people have times when they come together to party... and the biggest party of them all is CARNIVAL!

Using colourful illustrations and photographs along with lively descriptions, this cross-curricular resource explores the rich history and traditions behind the much loved annual festivities.

The resource takes you through the story of Carnival, with its roots in slavery and Caribbean culture, right through to what it is like to perform in a Carnival today.

All material in this resource has been taken from the book Carnival by Ayo Jones & Rhian Kempadoo-Millar.
